Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why should I use professional photography?

A: According to a 2013 joint study by NAR/Google, "Nine in 10 home buyers today rely on the internet as one of their primary research sources, and 52 percent turn to the web as their first step." You only get one chance to make a first impression, so why not make it fantastic? Professional photography conveys just that: a sense of professionalism. It demonstrates that you take your job of marketing a property seriously, which will make your clients happy. And as we all know, happy clients = more referrals!

Q: How are your images different from a point-and-shoot camera or iphone?

A: I use a professional DSLR full-frame camera with wide-angle lens, allowing me to capture a much broader field of vision. I also utilize a method called High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDR) to merge multiple exposures into a single image with gorgeous detail. I use levels to make sure my images are straight, preventing door frames and walls from looking like they're leaning in or out. And I use the latest editing software to fine-tune my images for color and clarity.

Q: There are other professional photography services out there. Why should I use you?

A: With me, you are getting more than just a service, you are getting a relationship! Did the unexpected happen and you need to reschedule? No problem. Want a photo of the park across the street? Just ask. I will do my best to accommodate you, no hidden fees attached

Q: How should the property be prepared for photography?

A: As clean and clutter-free as possible, with all light bulbs in working order. Outside, cars should be out of the driveway, lawn mowed, and toys/bikes/hoses etc. hidden or put away. Inside, everything should be clean/vacuumed/swept with loose papers, toys, dog crates, litter boxes, trash cans, etc. out of sight. Staging services are not included; I am in the photography business, not the home cleaning business! ;)

Q: How long does it take you to photograph the property?

A: This largely depends on the size of the house, but usually between 1-2 hours.

Q: How quickly will I receive my images?

A: Under most circumstances, within 24 hours. The real estate market moves quickly, which is why I try to move quickly too.

Q: How will I receive my images?

A: I typically send them via Dropbox, or Google Drive by request. Both are free services.

Q: What's the difference between your Full Res and MLS Res folders?

A: For your convenience, you will receive two folders with your images sized differently. The Full Res folder will contain high-quality jpegs, ideal for printing at 300dpi. The MLS Res folder will contain images with a web resolution of 72ppi, sized at 1920 pixels on the longest side.

Q: Will you upload to MLS for me?

A: Sorry but no, as this would require your MLS login information.

Q: How do you accept payment?

A: You will be invoiced through Paypal after receiving your images. The email link will take you to a secure site where you can pay by Paypal, debit card, or credit card (no Paypal account necessary). I also accept cash or check.

Q: Anything else?

A: Give me a call (913-486-6557), text me, or email me (chrystal@chrystallegrand.com), and I will be happy to answer any questions! :)
